- 2 / 5By ken smithThe Apple Farm USED to be, well, an apple farm. I loved (years ago) going in and seeing long aisles of different apples, lots of them, many different kinds, and in abundance. One could sample a few different apples of varieties you were unfamiliar with, and maybe try something new. This year you were lucky to see 10 picked over bags of apples scattered on a few dirty benches, surrounded by tourist junk and candy. Their cider is still delicious, and the baked goods are the same. People do enjoy the hayrides and other fall activities, and they are money makers for the business to be sure. But if you are looking for a wide variety of fresh apples to choose from, already picked ready for purchase, go elsewhere.March 18, 2017
